The lights on the tree fill the room
Finally, it is Christmas Day
Time to talk to Granny on Zoom
While the kids open presents and play
Christmas jumpers everywhere
Some should have stayed in drawers
Is that Dad dressed up as a bear
as wrapping paper covers the floor
The kitchen is busy and warm
Turkey, mince pies, stuffing
But to many cooks will create a storm
and might get Mum huffing
It is only one day a year
but peace, love and joy are its themes
And a day to hold close those who are dear
For you, a day to dream dreams
A day to look forward to
A day to seek and give forgiveness
Definitely not a day to be blue
