The Hawks of Misery

The hawks of misery circle my mind
Gathering to feed on my pain
Trying to leave my past behind
But my memories cascade like rain

The hawks of misery can sense my loss
Feeding on the edge of my grief
All I do is kneel before the Cross
And pray for relief

The hawks of misery have patience
They wait, knowing my heart will open
To let out my frustration
Your death has left me broken.
