The canal is calling
Time to get onboard
And start crawling
Once the food is stored
A time to enjoy nature
A time to meander
Searching for every tiny creature
As we slowly wander and ponder
Canal side pubs wave help
Much needed after a lock or three
So we are happy to part with our dough
Thank God we didn’t go to sea
Time is ease on a canal
Everything is slow, speed is not cool
But so good for your morale
And great to be away from school.
