Leaving the Texas Panhandle behind
Goodbye to the rolling plains
And the cold Winter wind
I have finally cast off its chains
So many years at the ranch
Every day I wanted to scream
But I now have carte blanche
To fulfill my wildest dream
Sky, wheat and corn
Were always before me
But to be fair the light in the morn
Was a wonder to see
But I have to go, to venture
Away from the land of cowboys
To seek a new adventure
In a city of wideboys.
