A Town

The blinds are down
The money is counted
Across the town
Nowhere is now crowded

For today shopping is over
Another trading day tomorrow
New bargains to discover
So, don’t end today in sorrow

But new parts of the town awake
Pubs and clubs pen their doors
Pints to pull, cocktails to shake
And dancers on the floor

Restaurants with welcoming smells
Draw you to their windows
Putting you under their spells
So enter and leave the shadows

Towns are places of fun and joy
Catering for one and all
Whether you want a meal or a toy
Just visit and have a ball.
