A Mother’s Prayer

How long has this been
Once I was your world
And you thought I was a queen
Oh, how things have changed

Now you have grown
You have a life away from me
I am on my own and alone
And my heart at times does wish you weren’t free

But you grew in my care
I taught you right and wrong
So, when I am no longer there
You will always cope and be strong.
