The headstone just said John
Who was he, what was his story
Obviously, he has passed on
But I wonder did he die in glory
Was John a European?
Did he spend his life alone?
But who then acknowledged his being
With a headstone
Will this always be a mystery?
That will be uncomprehending
A tale long lost in history
And we will never know John’s beginning.
