The Mirror

The mirror on the wall
Always sees everything
A gentleman in a top hat, a lady in a shawl
Celebrating the birth of Spring

The mirror just watches
As their roulette wheel turns
And the couple count their losses
And dreams are confined to urns

The mirror will allow you
To look amazing and grand
But will you see your plan though
Before it slides into the sand

The mirror will never take a side
All are treated the same
But it doesn’t allow you to hide
And certainly, never accepts any blame.
