Sadness Street

Like ice on a mountain top
Endless sorrow sits on my soul
I wish it, I beg it to stop
But life has taken its toll

My sorrow rides on the cold east wind
Touching and hurting all I meet
But to the sunlight of love, I am blind
As my soul lives on sadness street

I try to expose my soul to light
But so much is an iceberg buried below
That black always beats white
Will my soul ever wake from its sorrowful sleep.
