The Black Wings of Darkness

Darkness flew over their life
Wide black wings enclosed their hearts
Slicing like a knife
And splitting them apart

Darkness circled overs its success
Watching as a world of love crumbles
And they were just silhouettes
As their dreams tumbled

Who let the darkness in
Was love not enough
Had it been one to many a sin
That turned smooth into rough

Darkness was now the new road
Peace and joy no longer filled their head
The river of love no longer flowed
And hearts that were happy are now dead.
