A House

What stories a house could tell
Of people big and small
Of times when it was an empty shell
Or when someone answered its call

A house see families grow
And then diminish
It has tales of days of sun and snow
Of residents that spoke French or Spanish

A house lives through its keepers
For better or worse
It gives shelter to doctors or street sweepers
But there are times it wishes it could curse

A house is a home
When it is loved and cared for
Its occupiers may roam
But they love to come back through the door,
