A New Head of State

The armed forces will march
Bands will play
Ermine and mink will be worn
As it’s a coronation on Saturday

Pomp and ceremony for all the see
From a palace to an abbey
Down a road festooned with flags
Definitely nothing will look shabby

Ceremonial coaches pulled by horses
Royalty from far and wide
All participating in a crowning
Such splendour can’t be denied

Around the nation people will gather
To eat, drink and celebrate
On a day they will never forget
The day the nation crowned a new head of state.
