Today is a Holiday

The morning is dull
Rain has fallen
Birds in the trees
Hold back their song

Today is a holiday
But nothing is stirring
Will clouds lift
And the day start

Or are people tired
Crippled by inflation
Been feed lies
By politicians that pretend to serve

Or are people waiting
For another holiday
To celebrate a crowning
Which, incidentally, will cost millions

Will life ever get back
To where people
Can cease to worry, to be afraid
To live in a country that cares for them.
