The Tables are Empty

The tables are empty, the night is done
And heads into the early hours
We had talked, I said you were the one
But you laughed and said too much sun

The tables are empty, soon lights will be off
I wanted a special evening, one to remember
But all I heard was you scorn and scoff
Was I the only one in love?

The tables are empty, and my heart was in pain
Why did we come to the sand, the sea, the sun
We should have stayed at home in the rain
As that night my dreams were washed away on a wave.
