Throw the Dice

We walk on different sides of the street
Are there reasons why we walk alone
Perhaps a distance carved by fate’s cruel hand
Yet life’s a game of chance, surely we’ve always known

The world is wide, but streets are rarely straight
Aren’t risks worth taking, if one is bold
Maybe throwing the dice would free a trapped heart
Who knows what wonders might unfold

For every step apart, another is in step
What if we crossed the street, what if we dare
Would it bridge the gap, what would be revealed
Maybe it would recognise what we share

Dice are thrown, they spin and tumble
Would we stand on one side and meet
As in the game of life, there are winners
Who really knows till the game is complete.
