Summer is Going

The summer winds are leaving us
Like the hands of a clock, seasons turn
And we dance to their tune
At times we cuss, but what’s the point of making a fuss

The summer sun is losing its heat
No more picnics in the park
Feeling the sand between our toes
We have to shrug and accept the new beat

The summer rain, that at time is warm
And you want to sing and dance as it falls
Will soon cease, we look towards sleet and snow
And how we hate a winter’s storm.
