Time to Walk Out

The river was dying, no longer flowing
How like the way her heart felt
She knew he didn’t love her anymore
But how could she show him the door

The mountains were dark and foreboding
Like every room she entered
This had once been a home of love
But now there was no sign of the dove

The sun was setting, but there was no joy
On watching nature’s wonderous colours
As the only colours she now saw were dark
And she felt all future sunrises would be stark

Her world had ceased to exist, to turn
How can she cast away the chains holding her
To a life unwanted, to constant tears
Was it time to walk out and face her fears.
