Counting numbers, counting words
A dance of logic, thoughts unheard
Do you subtract, do you add
In this game is that good or bad?
Is a word too long, or just too short
Each vowel a ship, each letter a port
Can you count words forever unbound?
Or should you let words flow, worship the sound
Do counting numbers have to be right, precise
While words weave meaning, creating a paradise
Can truth be counted, or lost in a throng?
Is counting certainties the ultimate wrong?
Let words flow, let them breathe
In the beauty of language, find reprieve
For in each counted thought, in every free verse
Lies a world of meaning, a universe.
