The rain, unyielding, never ends
It pours from the skies, though fields it sends
A steady stream of water
That carves a path through country lanes
Drivers pause and wonder deep
Should they risk what the water keeps?
ill the flood be shallow and easy
Or will it rise and test their will?
Each puddle hides a secret tale
Of wheels that turn and hearts that fail
Can they reach the other side safely
Or sink within the lanes they have braved
Further still, deeper in the winding lanes
Problems tax drivers’ brains
Thinking rain and risk a constant dilemma
In the country lanes where rivers grow.
