A shadow now hangs over a life which was full
Now a lingering ache as Long Covid takes its toll
A world that was once bright and clear
Is frustrated as energy disappears
Brain fog wraps tight, a heavy cloak
Thoughts dissolve, unable to articulate
Memories can slip like grains of sand
A mind once so sharp now no longer stands
Exhaustion seeps through every bone
A body weary and tired
Every step grows slower, the legs refuse
Each movement feels like something to lose
The taste of life is now bittersweet
A world once so rich is now incomplete
The scents of joy, that fragrant bloom
All vanished, leaving an empty room
Yet still, within this endless fight
There flickers a steady hope
Though days can be dark and night grow long
The strength within remains ever strong
Through aching joints and endless pain
One breath, one step, takes place every day
For even when the body is tired and breaks
The will to fight Long Covid is still awake.
