Living Things

Everywhere we look there’s life
In the wind’s whisper, in deaths stillness
Small roots below the earth
Create fields of green, under blue skies that assist birth

Birds fly alone, together
They dance over the world
Trees with branches high
Life trying to touch the sky

Tiny creatures in deep forests
To might whales in deep oceans
Living things surround us, but do we see
The miracle of life’s harmony

Humans in our fragile bodies
Trying to connect to the world
But we rush, we forget
What is precious, what we need to protect

Every heartbeat, every breath
Is a gift from nature
So, please pause, look and see
The world around us, wild and free.
