The war is over, done
8th May is VE Day
The Allies finally won
And all counted their loses
We celebrate VE Day
While we remember those we lost
So, today is an odd day
Full of joy and hope, pain and sorrow
We mark eighty years
We honour those who survived
And we wipe away tears
For those who fell.
