The waterwheel is no longer turning
At one point key to village life
But time also turns, villages change
No longer earning, no longer working
Yet now we ask what did it do back in the day
Grind grain, forge metal
For many it was clearly a wonder
If only it would have a say
Now tourists stop and look
It has a beauty, an elegance
And an important part of our past
Now it may even be written about in a book
