Look the past is before you
Yes, it may now be a ruin
But stop and look again
This was once a home deep in the glen
Can’t you see the men and women
Working the fields, tending the stock
Maybe it was hard, but that is life
Everything of value can bring strife
But look deeper at the sight before you
A family at peace with themselves
Connected to the land, embedded in the earth
These days can we ever imagine what that is worth.
