Ten friends off on a narrowboat
Hope and laughter kept them afloat
The day was clear and bright
With food and drink that was just right
Some took the tiller, nerves were on show
Wondering which way the boat should go
Some raised bridges with courage and care
Through a few had a nervous stare
But once they learnt how to play the game
They were never again the same
Ten friends together, what a day
Full of memories to take away
Before they stopped for the night
Plans for another trip were in sight
So, well done to all the crew, the whole ten
And here’s to doing it again.
