My life changed at the Mardi Gras
The day I couldn’t believe what I saw
A Cajun lady with magnolias in her hair
Would I have the courage, would I dare
How do I address the Cajun lady
What can I say, will I ever be ready
Can I tell her she owns my heart
And after the Mardi Gras we can’t be apart.
People danced and sang in the street
Feet moving to a new Cajun beat
But I only had eyes for the Cajun lady
While I waited and wanted to say maybe.
