I drive in lanes with no cars
The countryside enters my heart
And at night I see, in all their glory, stars
Maybe I need to buy a horse and cart
To travel the lanes slowly and wonder
At natures splendour all around
To stop, rest and ponder
In such glory how can you feel down
Find a country pub at ease with itself
Greeting all who cross its door
And you can admire pewter jugs on a shelf
Why seek further, I don’t need anything more.
