So, an election on Independence Day
Irony’s shadow will certainly be cast
As we all finally have our say
On fourteen yeas we want to forget
Votes will be cast for a future unknown
And irony will dance in blue, red and yellow
On the day the people claim as their own
Yet, I wonder, will we ever see a UK Independence Day.
