Sunshine in my Heart

What a day, what a night
I only met you yesterday
But you put sunshine in my heart
And a dull sky was no longer gray

I just stopped for a coffee, to lift my day
You sat beside me and
You put sunshine in my heart
And angels sang when you touched my hand

We talked about a world we didn’t know
So much sorrow, so many tears, so much pain
Yet next to you I had sunshine in my heart
And wanted to dance with you in the rain

Now, time has aged us, visits to coffee shops are rare
But since that day in 1984
I have had sunshine in my heart
And I never asked for anything more.
