I have photographs that show
Days of fun and joy, of us out and about
Without them I am sure I would doubt
As my childhood memories, to say the least, are slow
Yet I do remember the day my life changed
I moved from boy to man
In one day and without a plan
The day my Dad died
Now as I get older and older
I wonder about Father and Son
Would we have had man to man fun
Standing shoulder to shoulder
But that is just a dream
My path changed course in one day
And without his guidance I made my own way
But I like to think, along with Mum, we’d have been a great team.
