I am alone in the circle
I see the people, I hear the voices
And I crave silence to rest easy
But the world gives me no choices
Without you the circle is empty
The light is gone, no more bright days
You held my hand and joy was king
Now all is seen in a tearful haze
Can I leave the circle, again to be free
Not to see, not to hear, to find a release
To escape the fun, the laughter
To let me slip into the silence and find peace
Yet somewhere beyond the circle
There must be a new dawn, where peace is in the air
So, can I reach for the edge, even if slowly, wearily
There must be a day I can dare.
