Town Twinning

From Market Drayton’s Buttercross
And a canal full of grace
To Pezenas where ancient stones
Creates a timeless place

A friendship across the sea
Not restricted by borders or miles
But by a simply wish to share
Stories, fun and smiles

One town beside a quiet canal
Where herons are known to hide
One town beneath the southern sun
With winding alleys full of pride

Seasons paint each town differently
Shropshire’s green fields, warm Languedoc vines
Yet both are shaped by human spirit
By hard work and church bell chimes

Both towns welcome strangers as friends
Sharing concerts, sports and good cheer
So, always hard to say goodbye and leave
But a reason to return another year.
