As Good as a Pantomime

Slowly moving, ducks for company
Nature blooming along the banks
As birds in trees sing a symphony
Life is good on the water, so we give thanks

Away from ZOOM and FaceTime
Four miles an hour is fast
But on board we always have a great time
And remember the canals of the past

Once mighty motorways of water
Now a place to enjoy free time
Mind you, at some locks you feel like a lamb to a slaughter
But generally, life afloat is as good as a Winter’s pantomime.
