Death’s Drummer

How he wished for a touch of magic
Even just a sprinkle
Hopefully replacing the tragic
with a twinkle

Never one to demand
but his soul cry’s for comfort
His feet stuck in sand
Hearing Death’s Drummer

Why me his head shouts
Just lying here waiting
Mind full of doubts
Every second hating

He wants sleep and rest
But his body fights
He hates his new guest
Tormented by his plight

His world is collapsing
He thinks of Macbeth
Thoughts are crashing
He is just waiting for death
