Christmas Time

Where does Christmas time go
So many calls on precious minutes
It certainly never goes slow
And pushes us to our limits

A tree to buy, a tree to decorate
Think about presents and worry
So much to do before a special date
We just can’t avoid being in a hurry

Turkey, duck, goose, which to choose
And how many ways can you cook sprouts
Don’t you occasionally want to stop and sit in some pews
As every shopping trip increases your doubts

We say give us a minute
But Christmas time never hears
It just sucks us into it
And can drive us to tears

Do you ever get discouraged
And want to give in
Or do you dig deep, carry on and find the courage
As Christmas time can get under your skin.
