War, such an aggressive sound
One that enters your brain
And you think battlefield
Or even worse nuclear rain
A word, it seems to me
To be lightly used
I wonder if you agree
It certainly makes me feel abused
They do it in our name
To keep us free, or so they say
But to politicians it’s just a game
What would they do if we said nay
It keeps dictators in power
Their people enslaved
As they sit in their ivory tower
And peoples wishes are betrayed
But war is as old as history
Why we don’t learn from the past
It, to me, is a complete mystery
Dear God, will the next war be the last?
