The Flower of Love

In the garden of our hearts, a flower lies
Love, a delicate bud in a silent room
Longing to bloom, but caught in the dark
A blossom is trapped and cries

Petals tightly closed, a secret to keep
Yet within the bud, a fire untamed
A passion that wants to burn
But for now love is hidden so deep

Storms may rage, winds may blow
But deep within the bud a promise takes root
As the seeds of love
Refuse to let go

One day the bud will open, a spontaneous spark
Revealing a bloom in magnificent splendour
Love will be free
The day the sun pierces the dark

Till then love cannot rest
Yet the bud remains silent
Until love’s flower can emerge
And be at its best.
