Dark Water

My thoughts are lonely, sorrow rules my heart
Memories are now shadows in the dark
As I wander through the corridors of despair
But should I stop and offer up a prayer

For in the depth of dark waters
There are glimpses of hope, faint though they be
As even in the darkest hours of gloom
There lies a promise that a new dawn will bloom

So, though lonely in thoughts, and sorrow is in my heart
I will face the storm and embrace grief
As even in the dark days and nights
One day, I know, there will be a glimmer of light.
