As the morning came, rain tapped in windows
Playing one of nature’s favourite songs
And the garden danced to its rhythm
All that was missing were white swans
But as swiftly as it came, rain retreated
And the garden filled with the sun’s warm embrace
The wet grass glistened with sunlit raindrops
And the flowers and trees had a happy face
Yet, when it seemed sunlight was claiming the day
Dark clouds gathered and rain again started its decent
Blossom on the Damson tree sadly danced
And the bird song from its branches sounds like a lament
Can the rain and the sun find a balance
What will the whims of the weather bring next
The flora and fauna reach out for an answer
As all in the garden are perplexed.
