Living My Life

Like us all I attended school
(But for me rather more than most)
I worked to earn a living
Raised a family
If possible, enjoy a holiday in the sun

Yes, that was living my life
As many others did
I was ambitious at work
Was that for me, or my family
I hope now it was both

As time passed, I grew, along with all around
There were moments to reflect
To, if possible, readjust
Find a new path that was more me

Now when work is becoming a distant memory
And my children lead lives of their own
I have time to sit and remember my journey
The good, the bad, yes even the ugly

If I lived it my life again, would I change anything
Yes of course, wouldn’t we all
But I have squared my circle
I am content with my lot
And will enjoy the time I have left ahead.
